Brucella in cattle
The Norwegian cattle population was declared free from cattle brucellosis in 1953.
The purpose of the surveillance and control program is to document freedom from brucellosis caused by Brucella abortus in Norway.
2022
Blood samples from 78 cattle with abortion in the second half of the pregnancy from 23 different herds were analysed for antibodies against Brucella abortus. All the samples were negative for B. abortus.
